5J, loyal to its origin, has preserved the purity of the breed without any cross with other breeds, and has conserved the natural ecosystem where it is developed. The peninsular southwest Dehesa assures the best feed to the 5J's pure Iberian pig. During the Montanera period, the animals reach to walk 14 km a day to find the acorn, their main food and resposible of their organoleptic qualities (properties that helps to decrease the bad colesterol and improves the cardiovascular health) which provide a texture that translated into an unreachable taste.
Since longer than 130 years, 5J keeps the traditional and natural elaboration of all its products, preserving the experiences and traditions transmited from generation to generation. The natural larders of 5J are located on Jabugo, in the Natural Park of Aracena and Picos de Aroche, which are awarded as part of Reserve of the biosphere of UNESCO Dehesa de Sierra Morena.
